Foundation Fixation
I'm always in the market for the next best thing in foundation, last week I got colour matched with some great oil-free foundations. I'm a MAC C20 though all of them were matched to my skin tone there is a huge variations in colour and undertone.
BURBERRY Velvet Foundation Long Wear Fluid Foundation: It does live up to its names of long wearing and definitely has a velvety finish. A top pick in texture and coverage category, but the colour selection is a bit problematic. The colour selection ranges from 201 to 208. I got 204,205 & 206 samples, as you can see the 204 is extremely dark, 205 is probably the better fit but it is still too pink on my skin. Overall one of the best foundation I have tested for staying power (only slightly oily during the day), Coverage (med-heavy), the finish and the wear on the skin is just beautiful, just pity about the colour selection.

CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra Light SkinPerfecting Foundation: Like all Chanel is one is well packaged and has
a beautiful fragrance. It has a superb-fine fluid texture and silicon to assist
with blending gives a subtle & light finish like a second-skin. It can be
build up for a heavier coverage but best suited as MED coverage. Again slight
oiliness during the day. The Colour selection is not huge but B20 suits me well.
It also contains a UVB sun filter. Overall it is a lightweight foundation that creates
an even & radiant finish, not exiting but still a great product.
GIORGIO ARMANI Designer Lift Smoothing FirmingFoundation SPF 20: I’m a big fan of the Lasting Silk Foundation so I
wanted to try this one, which is said to have more beneficial ingredients for
the skin. The texture is very nice, it as liquidy but very silky feel and on
skin it makes skin look very radiant. The colour selection is not the same as
the Lasting Silk and it definitely doesn’t translate between the two. I was
matched with 5.5 in the Lasting Silk and a 4.0 in the Designer Lift. When it
first goes on the skin it looks very white, but it does oxidise a little and
the whiteness “calms down” a bit. It’s very oily on my skin, would be better
suit Normal to Dry Skin types.
SHU UEMURA Face Architect Smooth Fit FluidFoundation: I have been very curious about this foundation for a
long time finally I tried it in the shop. The colour selection is a bit convoluted,
you will need the makeup artist to explain and match you properly. I got the 764,
which looked ghostly white when she applied on my skin, I felt like a geisha.
It did take some blending, loose powder and blush to quiet the brightness of
the foundation down. The texture and the coverage are fantastic and it stays
all day. Overall a great foundation.
HOURGLASS Veil Fluid MakeupOil Free SPF 15: I really want to love this
foundation it contains many beneficial ingredients for the skin and I love the packaging,
it looks very elegant and the pump gives just the right amount of product. The
texture is also a plus, very silky offers smooth coverage which can be built up
but again the colour selection is a bit problematic, I was matched with Ivory 1.0
which was way too pink on my skin and 1.5 Nude seems too dark. The Ivory once blended it look okay but it’s not an ideal match.
